ALL SET UP/REFLECTION

Here are a few documentary images of my area and the work I had on display, I had my lastest painting, a sketchbook and then a selection of pieces of work for sale! There were limited tables.. which was an issue. I should have brought my own, but our organisation in heinsight wasnt great, consequently resulting in a make-do situation. I should have gone and checked and then arranged my own one to be brought in (Lesson learnt). Also, this time of year no image or words can depict how cold the church was! most of my prints got cold and damp which wasnt ideal and also something I hadnt even thought may happen, as our last exhibition in the Church was in the summer.

NEARLY READY FOR THE ART FAIR!

DECOUPAGE LOVING!

Getting ready for the Christmas Art fair, I want to have as many things to sell to help us fund raise as much money as possible! so I thought id have ago at making a few different things to prints and cards and had the idea of decoupage! Who doesn’t love something covered in glittery Mod Podge at Christmas time!

These are hand turned wooden bowls, turned by my dad which I have decoupaged this was my first trial one to see how it would dry, and I’m actually so happy with the results! Also its fun having a little collaboration going on, joint efforts!

The glitter glue certainly makes a difference, even placed next to a candle the smallest amount of light makes the bowl glisten! This paper is one of my favourite designs to use, the subtle spearmint dashes against the black seem to suit any object you’re covering. I prefer the subtle papers. I left the base of the bowl exposed, unintentionally it was the only non-sticky part so I could hold it! but actually I think it looks quite beautiful having that tiny exposure of the stained wood.

I have had 6 requests for these without even reaching the art fair, so I better get my Mod Podge on!
